Welcome to the official website of the Kyokushin Schools of Karate Scotland, This page will give you the details and regulations of our KSK Scotland Branch.
Each Country has a Head Branch Chief (min rank of Go-Dan / 5th Dan) if there is not a Go-Dan within that country then the KSK worldwide President can issue a Yon-Dan / 4th Dan the position on a temp basis.
The Head Branch Chief for Scotland is Shihan Iain Rodger 5th Dan (Senshi Do Dojo Argyll).
If there is no Yon-Dan, then the KSK President will head the branch. Under the KSK every black belt (dojo operator) is given the rank of branch chief as this allows them to conduct their own grading’s under their own group or dojo.
The KSK was set up to help bring together kyokushinkai clubs, groups and even organisations, we don’t use a single syllabus so when a kyokushinkai operator joins us they can continue to use the syllabus from their previous organisation allowing minimum change to your setup and students.
The KSK is affiliated to the Independent Kyokushin Union Kyokushinkaikan, which allows the independence for each operator to grow without the union’s head’s telling you what and how to do it!
We are currently the second largest kyokushin union within the UK and all our committee members including the President Shihan Darren Murphy are ex BKK , IKO or IFK plus volunteers that work hard for the union without any financial gain, so our loyalty is true.
Within the UK all instructors whether main or just assistants MUST be CRB registered and with the KSK we register you with the NSPCC policy documents.
· CRB £50.00 each every 3 years
· NSPCC £10.00 each every 3 years
If you already hold a CRB certificate and valid within the three years will accept it until expiry date, again saving you even more money.
The KSK is not a money grabbing union we are there for you the members and will try very hard to keep costs to the minimum .
