Hope its ok to post this here as its not a kyokushin topic but i have heard a lot about people wanting to add practice ground work on wednesday,if there was enough intrest would it be plausible to add small things into grading sylabus example white belts escaping from the mount and/or taking someone down,to adding armbars ,kimuras, controling, triangles etc the higher through the grades?

just a thought ,and maybe this forum might help create some debate about it.Hope im not overstepping my boundries putting this here and im not sure how many of the wed class look here but if you do please put in your opinion, osu

i have not done much ground work before and would like to try some at some stage. i don't know if it's relevant  in gradings for kickboxing or karate etc but i can see the appeal for old and new members as a lot  of people watch mma now and could relate to it.. did you want to bring it into the syllabus as part of your grading ?

It can always be taught as a side issue, whether its in the syllabus or not, we could do with Wullies view on this as I assume we are talking about his Wednesday class?

I wouldnt be comfortable teaching it as its not my forte

Maybe Coogie & Matty could do a course sometime?

I enjoy a bit of ground work, but I won't be adding it as part of the grading criteria for a couple of reasons, firstly I'm not good enough to teach it and secondly it is a kickboxing class. We will always do it on the side, but what we need is a Ground Work class at the Dojo.
