Was thinking of ideas ,what do people think of badges for everyone who has competed in tournaments nothing big or fancy ,some sort of mark on the gi?,might encourage kids to try out for tournaments?People would also recognise straight away who has competed?just an idea .what do people think?

think this is a good idea.some sort of mark on your gi.to show that you are true kyokushin,in spirit and body.given by shihans and sensies,of each dojo.

its a good idea... and something that has already been looked into, there will be a Scotland squad badge available in the future, kind of a cross between the kanku and the saltire, I have a sample in my bag, remind me to show you when I see you, although if you have any other ideas as to what it should look like, let me know, the design is not set in stone.... what about one that looks like my logo on the left?

nice idea... but, it would be very difficult to get a good image of a face on a badge, I think some sort of logo and/or writing would be a lot easier, remember it would be embroidered, not printed....

i think the kanji with the saltire(site logo)is probably best its instantly recogniseable clean and sharp.

Me thinks that you have picked up the stick at the wrong end mr mcphee, its not a case of LOOK AT ME !!!,nor a "holyer than thou" thing, more an incenticve for people to try out kumite. You have to admit not everone is into the kumite part of karate and some just need loads of encourgement or nudge(or shove) to particepate.Kids like rewards and belonging to groups and i personly think this would definatly encourage them to try out kumite. As for the adults how would a badge divide a class anymore than your belt grade,We are all their to learn and get better and i would easily take advice of a lower grade as much as a sensei/shihan .Also the only advert it would be would be advertising our club.I take your point but dont think that anybody with the atitude of "im the dogs ,ive fought"would last very long in our clubs as they would soon be found out and our shihans would soon sort out their misunderstandings of kyokushin,no disrespect to you kenny this is my own opinion .osu!

i havnt picked up any stick, points to note i agree with a shove,i agree to a certain point about the kids, but what if one doesnt want to take part they could be picked out by others in school etc.The badge would in my opinion divide a class maybe not ours but in other ksk clubs but i dont bother with other clubs.why should your belt cause annimosity???maybe in our club it does.yes i agree with taking advice of lower grades as long as its correct wouldnt bother me you know that.i just think the gi should have the badge traditionaly kyokushin thats all.If its the new way the so be it bit i like tradition anything wrong with that?if there is to be a badge of honour then lets discuss it here but im entitled to my opinion .and yes shihans would put the foot down on misunderstandings..end of

my original plan was to have the badge for fighters who represent KSK Scotland at National Level (Squad Members) and for the squad coaches

my opinion was the badge to show your true kyokushin spirit, through your shihan or sensie.to the true art of kyokushin.not to think you are better or greater than anybody else.in my view stay humble ,and learn.give100%at all times.respect lower grades ,as well as your higher grades.help the lower grades as much as possible,to give them a full understanding of kyokushin, and help their spirit grow.
